Liquid Mask & Seal

Jasco® Mask & Seal allows you to skip the steps of masking and cleaning glass in both windows and doors by allowing you to prime the frames and mask in one easy step. This also gives you the added feature of sealing the windows against drafts and water damage. After peeling away the Mask & Seal, you are left with clean glass and no adhesive residue. Mask & Seal is formulated for professional use, but is great for the homeowner looking for a professional and easy finish on window and door trim.

PREPARATIONS: Stir before using. Brush or Spray. Trim should be clean, deglossed and ready for painting. MASK & SEAL will peel off glass and most smooth, uncoated flat metal surfaces or glossy painted trim.

APPLY: 1. BRUSH on thick coat one inch wide to glass and on to edge of trim…or SPRAY entire window area. Apply only when surface temperature is between 40 to 90º F. Reapply if too thin to peel. 2. After MASK & SEAL changes color from white to clear (approx. 30 minutes), apply paint (oil or latex) to trim and edge of glass to seal. Let paint dry.

REMOVE: Notch and cut carefully along the edge of the trim. Peel paint off the glass. Peels best when cool.

WEATHERPROOFING: Brush on two applications to edge of trim and glass.

Can I use Jasco® Liquid Mask & Seal on plastic window panes?
No, Jasco® Liquid Mask & Seal is not recommended for use on plastic window panes.

I am starting to realize that Jasco Mask & Seal is a relatively unknown product - and I cannot figure out why. This stuff is great. I use it on 90% of the multi-paned windows I paint - metal and wood framed. Mask & Seal looks kind of like Elmer's White Glue. I just use cheap chip brushes to apply it to the perimeter of the window glass (or I cover the glass for spray jobs), and I apply it in such a way that the stuff overlaps onto the wood or metal frame a bit. (This creates a new seal between the glass and the frame). After about 2 hrs, it dries clear and has a somewhat rubbery consistency. Razor the perimeter of the glass, and if you applied the Mask & Seal thick enough, it'll peel off the glass similarly to rubber cement. If the mask & seal was applied too thin for peelaway, you can scrape it with a good glass scraper and it'll release a lot easier than paint would.
